"N’importe quoi" is a song about the ups and downs in a relationship due to a lack of verbal and nonverbal communication. Love is complex. We must listen to one another and learn to properly read the signs that are in front of us, or risk misunderstandings and misread signals leading to jealousy, envy, and toxicity.

The song combines an upbeat rhythm with a haunting message. Its clean melody builds in momentum, eventually exploding into heavy, angry distortion. It pushes this feeling to the brink where it is held, only to go back to where it just started from, symbolizing the back and forth these relationship dynamics will yield if left unchecked, and the unsatisfied frustration that is left to build up again.

"N'importe quoi" is an expression that is dismissive. Nonsense, rubbish, whatever. For many people, this is the way they are made to feel by their partner. The song serves as a warning to people; to strive for open dialogue and communication in a relationship. If the pursuit of transparency and communication is met with intimidation or indifference, then you must evaluate your needs vs. the relationship's reality.
